Eugene Hütz, a Romani born in Ukraine, Gogol frontman and one of the great storytellers of our time, fled his homeland during the Chernobyl disaster. Now, after years of exorcising demons through his music, he is going home to face down the biggest demon of all. Through never-before-seen photo and video archives spanning two decades – including concert performances, backstage moments and intimate interviews –, Scream of My Blood is a testament to the power of speaking your truth, no matter the cost.

American documentary with English and Hungarian subtitles

This film screening of the Bartók Spring is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with Hangvető and Music Hungary.

Our offer

koncert (Esőnap nincs!)

This summer at the Capital Circus of Budapest, we invite you on an exhilarating journey through time! Close your eyes, take a leap, and travel back 100 years to the fantastic 1920s — an unforgettable decade bursting with energy and style. Who wouldn’t want to step out of a sleek sports car, don a chic floppy hat, and dance to the irresistible rhythms of swing, jazz, or the Charleston?

This full-evening "crime story" of a dance drama takes as its starting point Barcsai's Lover, one of the most estimable of Hungary's balladic treasures. After cuckolding her husband, a wife awaits a terrible punishment. But how did things actually get to this point?
