After the February concert, in May the BFO will perform two more of Brahms' Hungarian Dances, a challenging concerto, and a symphony that traverses the depths of the musical landscape.

While listening to the orchestra’s excellent musicians performing in a cozy atmosphere, the audience will learn about the instruments of the symphony orchestra and concert etiquette in a playful and interactive manner. After the concert, the kids can have a mug of cocoa in the lobby.

The overture to Berlioz's late opera Béatrice et Bénédict is an exciting and dynamic piece of music. Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto is one of the most popular works of the 19th century: virtuosic and intimate at the same time.

At the concerts scheduled for the Ferencsik season ticket, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra will take the stage in smaller numbers, in keeping with the style of Viennese Classicism. The final night on the programme will add another exciting moment when we hear the Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467, played on the pre-modern fortepiano.

The Budapest Festival Orchestra's Brahms series continues with a juxtaposition of grueling pursuit and easy success, as Hungarian dances precede weighty compositions.

Director-choreographer Attila Egerházi created genre pictures for Boban Markovic's unique and extremely dynamic, lively, and dramatic musical world, which create a string of sarcastic and humorous scenes that present a world and express a feeling of life.

Jordi Savall is at the helm of the Budapest Festival Orchestra again! This time, the living legend of early music will be conducting a production centered around the themes of natural elements and the furies, performed on historic instruments by the Baroque Ensemble of the BFO founded in 2011.

Everyone is welcome to come in colourful clothes, the programme is a mere 50 minutes in length (without an interval), and the audience sits in close proximity to the organist. Performing the May programme, the fourth instalment of the series, will be Péter Mekis, a representative of the younger generation.
