Artistic director and director-choreographer Balázs Vincze is very familiar with the tastes of dance aficionados partial to the traditions of bourgeois theatre and is superb at adapting familiar and popular literary classics to the dance stage. His wonderful sense of proportion enables audiences to follow plots in the language of dance. His contemporary choreographies built on classical foundations are unique, spectacular and of a high professional calibre without losing sight of the need to please the audience.

A mevlevi rend szúfi szertartása, a szema az Istenhez való felemelkedés állomásait jelképezi a maga vallásos elemeivel és témáival, amelyekből következően megvannak a maga szabályai és jellemzői. A mevlevi rend Veled szultán és Ulu Arif Cselebi szultán idejétől kezdve szigorúan követte a csak általa gyakorolt szertartás lépéseit, de tagjai Mevlana Dzselaleddin-i Rúmi idején egy bizonyos szabályát figyelmen kívül hagyták. A szabályok Pir Adil Cselebi koráig folyamatos átalakuláson mentek át, napjainkra érték el végleges formájukat.

A Bihari Együttes 1954-ben alakult Novák Ferenc vezetésével. Több mint fél évszázados működése alatt számos hazai és nemzetközi fesztivál nagydíját, helyezését nyerte el, a Martin György Néptáncszövetség által szervezett minősítő fesztiválokon kiváló minősítést, 2005-ben Csokonai Vitéz Mihály közösségi, 2012-ben Príma Primissima díjat kapott. Tervszerű utánpótlás-nevelésének eredményeképpen ma több, mint kétszáz fős közösség alkotja a „Biharit”. Ifjú táncosaink az alapfokú művészeti oktatás keretén belül ismerkednek hagyományainkkal.

A Csodaszarvas legendáját minden magyar ismeri, ez a mi eredetmondánk, ám valahányszor művész nyúl hozzá, mindig gazdagodik. Az Eredet című Kósart.-előadással mi is elhelyezünk egy csillagot az agancs ágbogán.

The World of Ballet Remembers a Hungarian Legend

Compared to Swan Lake, the well-known version of the classical ballet, I wished to rephrase the piece from another aspect, in a different light. In my interpretation, Siegfried is a young man with a split mind, who is being held captive by the traumas of his childhood as a result of his relationship with his mother.

Being touched is like getting into something exceptionally sensitive, intimate, deep. In this moment, something really important, something essential happens. Something inside moves and changes.

We don’t really understand why he does what he does – Hermes is an enigma. His personality irritates us, yet there is something about him that captivates us. How does he enchant us? What is at the heart of the magic that this taboo-breaking, charming and arrogant trickster casts on us?

A Táncművészeti Egyetem balettművész hallgatóinak vizsgakoncertje hagyományosan egy klasszikus/neoklasszikus balett-felvonással kezdődik, a második rész koncertszámai között minden hallgató a tehetségének leginkább megfelelő stílusú és karakterű feladatban mutatkozhat be, míg a harmadik részben egy modern/kortárs darab kerül a műsorba.

The world premiere of László Dubrovay's dance drama Faust, the Damned took place at Müpa Budapest in 2016, as part of the Budapest Spring Festival. This large-scale production inspired by Goethe's masterpiece debuted on the main stage of the National Theatre of Pécs in the 2023/24 season, and will run again in 2024 at Müpa Budapest's Festival Theatre.
