Több, mint harminc év után tér vissza a legendás darab a Szegedi Szabadtérire. A szegedi Dóm téren mutatták be Magyarországon először Andrew Lloyd Webber varázslatos művét. A rockopera jelentős mérföldkő a Szegedi Szabadtéri Játékok életében, mely ekkor indult el azon az úton, hogy a hazai musicaljátszás meghatározó színhelye legyen. A darab műsorra tűzésének szép aktualitást ad, hogy a város jövőre ünnepli a fesztiválnak is ikonikus hátteret biztosító Fogadalmi Templom felszentelésének 90. évfordulóját.
