Michael Mayo’s family legacy and natural talent paved the way for him to blossom as an artist and eventually achieve global fame. As the third vocalist to graduate from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance, he has worked alongside the institute’s founder, Herbie Hancock, as well as with Kneebody, Christian Sands and Gretchen Parlato.

A Kossuth-díjas Vujicsics együttes alapítótagja, a hetvenéves Borbély Mihály pályafutása során mindig azon dolgozott, hogy bemutassa a hangfolyamok útját azok forrása és deltavidéke között.

A Zeneakadémia zenekariművész-képzésében korábban fontos szerepet játszott a fúvószenekari repertoár és az ehhez szükséges speciális játékmód elsajátítsa. Hosszú szünet után, Szentpáli Roland művészeti vezetésével immár két éve ismét működik az intézmény koncertfúvós zenekara, melyet azért is hívtak ismételten életre, hogy napjaink zeneszerzőit új művek komponálására buzdítsák, ezzel is hozzájárulva a modern magyar fúvószenekari repertoár bővítéséhez.

Jörg Widmann is a musical polymath par excellence. He is not only one of the greatest living masters of his instrument, the clarinet, but also an excellent composer, orchestrator and conductor. His compositions are palatable, entertaining, thought-provoking, and inventive. His programs are harmonious and carefully selected.

Taking the stage together with one of the world’s most celebrated orchestras at this concert will be two illustrious sons of musical families: Paavo Järvi, who hails from a family of conductors, and Alexandre Kantorow, a pianist born to violinist parents.

Kevés zongorás trió vállalkozik kortárs művek előadására. Balog Alexandra, Vavrinecz András és Tomasz Máté kamaraestje mindenképpen a hiánypótló, de a közönség igényeihez is kapcsolódó koncertek sorát gyarapítja. A hangverseny két félidejének műsora szimmetrikus: mindkét részben egy kortárs zongoratrió a nyitószám, amit egy szólócsellóra írt, szintén kortárs darab követ, végül pedig mindkét részt a klasszika legnagyobb alakjainak művei zárják.

Known for her sensitive interpretation of roles, the Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund will once again demonstrate in this evening of lieder what an outstanding performer of the German repertoire she is.

We heard him alongside Elīna Garanča in 2021 at Müpa Budapest, and he has since become one of the most sought-after singers of Puccini.

Lakatos Ágnes és Oláh Kálmán ének-zongora duó formációja jól ismert a magyar zenei életben, repertoárjuk főként amerikai jazz-sztenderdekből áll, a Jazz itt! című sorozat estjére azonban egy teljesen új műsorral készültek. Arra a kérdésre keresik a választ, hogy mitől sajátos ízű a műfaj hazai képviselőinek zenéje. A koncert kiváló példája annak, amikor kutatási eredmények az előadóművészetben hasznosulnak.

A band committed to modernising Indian classical music, Araj consists of five young musicians considered in their homeland to be the outstanding performers of their generation. Formed by tabla player Ishaan Ghosh, all members are virtuosos of their instruments (tabla, sitar, bamboo flute, sarangi) and vocal techniques, and their interplay breathes new life into the Indian classical tradition.

A 29-year-old female bass player from India. These few words are enough for most people to immediately think of Mohini Dey. Despite her young age, pages could be filled listing all the artists and festivals she has performed with and at since the age of nine. It was her father, also a bass player, who started her on her professional path, a journey which has so far brought her into contact with Steve Vai, Zakir Hussain, Quincy Jones, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Gergő Borlai.

The guest appearance of the world-famous American maestro Lawrence Foster, who represents the senior age group of the international community of composers, promises to be among the outstanding events of the season. The musician with Romanian parents has conducted the Hungarian National Philharmonic on several occasions and each visit has attracted an enthusiastic response.

It has been a long time since we thought of Cécile McLorin Salvant as merely the promising winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Her expressive voice capable of conveying profound emotions and refined sentiments, her virtuoso improvisation, and her brave, experimental combinations of styles have now come to represent a point of reference to a new generation.
